I really like the new commercial with Brandon Jennings and Bango for ESPN NBA Destination. It is about time the Bucks get some national attention.

Athletes Get NEWD for MS
Brookfield's Ashley Kumlien recently completed a run of more than 3,200 miles across the US raising awareness and money for Multiple Sclerosis. Ashley went on this journey in honor of her mother, Jill, who has battled this debilitating disease for nearly 28 years.
In celebration of her unbelievable accomplishment and to help raise even more money for MS, MOCT is hosting a "fashion meets fitness" show on November 4th. Local amateur and pro athletes will walk the runway in both casual and fitness wear--all of which will be up for auction. The "models" are runners and cyclists from the Milwaukee area, along with pro triathletes and Olympians, members of the Wave and Admirals, and even a few Green Bay Packers are scheduled to appear and take the runway!
EVENT INFO:
On November 4th come celebrate Ashley's unbelievable accomplishment and raise some money for her non-profit, MS Run the US. Models will be wearing new designs from NEWD Clothing Company, Live the Dream fashions as well as fitness gear from local running outfitters. Every ensemble on display will be available for purchase that night. Oh and you might recognize a few of the models from tv... or the gridiron, the field or the ice.
Auction items include autographed Green Bay Packers gear; a TREK bike; premier tickets to Bucks, Brewers, Marquette games; gift cards for SPiN Milwaukee, Replay Sports Bar, The Knick and other local restaurants; salon and spa packages among others.
WHERE:
MOCT BAR
240 E. Pittsburgh St.
Milwaukee, WI
WHEN:
Thursday, November 4th
TIME:
5pm-Bar time; Fashion show starts around 7 pm
It should be a good time for a good cause and I forgot to mention Milwaukee's own Colleen McIntyre will be strutting her stuff on the runway. Look out Holllywood.

Daft Punk Goes Disney and Hollywood
One of the most anticipated 3D movies to come our this year, can only be accompanied by a great sound track. Leave it to two French robots (a.k.a Daft Punk) to compse a soundtrack just as amazing as the movie. Tron: Legacy comes out December 17 and today a video montage featuring the song "Drezzed" from the soundtrack featuring a cameo from Daft Punk. Besure to look closely.
In related Daft Punk news, if you do not have your halloween costume. Here is an idea if you have the time. This might the best costume ever.

I Ate That At Blue's Egg
Creamy Polenta with lacinato kale, roast mushrooms, poached eggs, and sauce fonduta. I highly recommend getting the side of thick cut bacon to accompany. The only problem with Blue's Egg is that it's not next to my apartment.

The Brooklyn Space Program: Backed By Science
I have been joking this week that I am not "Backed By Science" but the Brooklyn Space Program is for real. They sent a HD camera to space via a Homemade Spacecraft , I have not... yet. Thanks to Burnhearts for posting.

Brett Favre The Punchline
Thanks to The Onion A/V Club for finding this gem from Taiwan. How the mighty have fallen. From this to being a punchline on 30 Rock and Bill Maher, once a hero now Favre needs an image overhaul. Good luck, they are expensive. Oh and Brett, why the Crocks?

Street Art Milwaukee
It appears that Milwaukee is starting to get a street art scene. I saw these guys on my ride home from work. Any guesses where I saw this piece?
This also counts as my contribution to gallery night. Milwaukee you are welcome.
Star Wars, Doctors, & Sneakers..Oh My
Most of you know that I love sneakers. With both the college and NBA seasons along with holidays upon us, sneaker companies are ramping up marketing efforts.
Below are two spots that caught my attention. Both play off history, legend, and pay homage to the past.
The first is a great adidas Originals spot playing off The Star Wars cantina scene. I love what adidas have done with their Originals collection over the last few years. They have struck the right cord between athlete, celebrity, and music.
This Star Wars spot it no different. Every Star Wars fan loves this scene and adidas puts a nice spin on it. And a great Daft Punk cameo, it only seems fitting.
Thanks to Walk On Spot for posting this Converse spot. I agree with his comments, ever since Nike acquired the Converse, they have done a great job putting life back into the brand. The use of legends is great. Julius Erving and God Shammgod, one of the greatest names in all of basketball, give credibility to a brand trying to jump start their basketball line after Dwyane Wade jumped to the Jordan Brand.
Plus the choice of The White Stripes "Hello Operator" is a great touch.

Style Up Your Marquette Midnight Madness
With midnight madness right around the corner it is time to get back in the swing of college basketball. That means wind sprints, face paint, and getting your gear straight. It is time to either dust off or purchase your very own "AL" t-shirt. Show your support in style. Go Marquette.

The Dark Side of The Simpsons
When I saw this video posted on 88Nine's Facebook wall I was kind of excited. Having a chance to check out Exit Through The Gift Shop, I was interested to see the outcome of a Bansky and Matt Groening collaboration. The whole thing did not disappoint. Bansky stuck to his roots and Groening and his team, allowed him to have artistic freedom. Good job to everyone involved.

adidas Basketball: Fast Don't Lie
While I might not be as fast as Brian Gainor, if you put me in that gold adidas warm-up and my game would most definitely elevate. I look good in gold.
Nike Marty McFly's High Tops
Anyone who grew up watching the Back To The Future franchise has their favorite moments. For some it might be the Delorean, for other it might be Doc Brown, but for me it was always the Nike sneakers from Back To Future II (aka The Marty McFly's).
It appears that 2015 is now. For the low price of $15,000, you can have your own pair of custom made Nikes worn by Michael J. Fox. They are self-lacing, so they practically pay for themselves.

HOLLERADO - AMERICANARAMA (NEW)
If you like indie-rock and 8-bit video games, then you might like this music video. This 8-bit human video apparently features someone who played the "serial killer" on season 5 of The Wire.

Friends Of Wizconsin
Nick Kusiak "AKA - DJ Kusi" - Chicago, IL
It was college shirt day. Take one look and see which one stands out and is the best looking shirt of the group. Midnight Madness is right around the corner, make sure you have your "AL" t-shirt ready for this year.
Motivation Weekend
Just a bit of motovation for me and the rest of the participants in this weekend's Lakefront Marathon. Best of luck to everyone. And special thanks to the Badgerland Striders, all the volunteers and supporters that help make it happen.
