TCD & WMSE 12 Songs of the Holidays

TCD and WMSE have partnered to give their readers and listeners the gift of music this holiday season. A 12 Song Holiday Project was born out the spirit of giving, sharing and a love of local music.

They will be posting a unique line-up of local artists. Recording a special holiday song that you can download for free. If that is not good enough, local artist Dwellephant has made downloadable CD cover art to accompany this rare treat.

New tracks will be posted throughout the week. Follow them on Twitter for updates on when new tracks will be posted. Be sure to check back next Monday Dec. 21 - they will post the coup de grace: A mash-up of the all artists covering "Auld Lang Syne."

Teecycle T-shirts

I love t-shirts both new and used. It is even better when you find these treasures at thrift shops or estate sales. Teecycle shirts eliminates hours of rummaging through racks and piles of clothes. Each shirt is unique and gives you that vintage feeling - like the one above. Plus, you are doing a good thing for the environment - saving a t-shirt from a land fill. Also, Teecycle shirts donate $1 per shirt to the Milwaukee River Revitalization Foundation - to restore urban river trails and waterways.

Portishead track for Amnesty

Portishead have released a brand new track - 'Chase the Tear' for Amnesty International. It's now available as an exclusive download single from 7 digital with all earnings going towards Amnesty's International.

Bon Iver's High School Musical

Here is a new side most of us have not seen from this Sconsin crooner —a jazzy, swingin’ side. A far diversion from what we have come to know about him and his fantastic songs. Back in April when he joined the Eau Claire Memorial High School Jazz Ensemble for an eight-song set. The session included standards and re-worked versions of Bon Iver songs “For Emma” and “Lump Sum.”

Fans of Bon Iver should check out A Decade With Duke, which compiles both the ensemble’s performance and the set with Vernon. If noting else it should make you kick yourself for not going out for band in High School. Reports say physical CDs are available only in Eau Claire, though it will be able to download the album at iTunes, Amazon.com, and other retail outlets. Proceeds will go to Memorial High School's music program. Or as The Onion A/V Club calls it "Officially the coolest fund-raiser of any music program in the country."

One question, why aren't these kids more excited?

Give The Gift of Life????

It has been a year of giving for The Flaming Lips. A new album, videos, and memorable show are not enough for Wayne and the follows. The Flaming Lips now offer their fans a Silver Trembling Fetus Christmas tree ornament.

We all know how much they love the Christmas season, so this seems right. The three-inch Silver Trembling Fetus "is rumored to give off vibrations that help all humans progress toward an intelligence explosion." God Bless Us All.

Check out the video-- and order the ornament here - It may make you smarter!

One Big Holiday

It is not traditional holiday song but it is one of my favorites.

Wolf Pack

It appears the Brewers are close to signing left handed pitcher Randy Wolf to a three year deal. I will spend the remainder of the off season getting my Wolf Pack together.

I like the move by the Brewers. I hope Wolf stays healthy during his stay in Milwaukee and dose not get a case of the Suppans.

Brewer fans we can do better than this....

Wizconsin T's for the Holidays

With the Holiday's right around the corner give any Wisconsin sports the gift of urban sportswear. Four unique designs celebrating the traditions, accomplishments and history of our city and teams.

Bernie's Chalet

The greatest in stadium signage ever. The beer-barreled chalet was built for Bernie where he led the crowd in cheering. Following each home run and every victory, he slid down and plunged himself into a huge beer mug in celebration. It's made of golden yellow fabric like your favorite pilsner. The screen is on the lower left of the shirt.

The AL

"If the waitress has dirty ankles, the chili should be good" It is quotes like these that makes the coach a legend in the city. His name is synonymous with 1977. He was on of the most joyful and charismatic in college basketball history. Looks great on and off the court.

The Brew City

The tailgates. The roof. The return to the playoffs. Who dosen't love this town? Let your civic pride shine on through this shirt, which was created just of people like yourself. It's a rare brew, clean and refreshing.

The First Baseman

The Homerun Derby King. The slugger. The first baseman. One of the most prolific hitters in team history. This future legend is deserving of his own symbol. So whether he desides to go as a "The Artist" or just Prince, everyone in Brewer nation hopes he continues to rule the park for years to come.

Shoot me a note at michaelwiz@gmail.com if you would like to place an order or have questions. Each shirt is $20 plus shipping (were applicable). Thanks.
